The Masked Singer was back for its third series on Saturday night – but viewers had a complaint minutes after the show started.

Joel Dommett is back to host the hit ITV competition where the judges try to guess who the celebrity is singing behind the mask.

Judges Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan joined him in the studio as the top six contestants took to the stage.

But viewers were distracted by the same as they logged on.

They commented that while the judges were separated by plexiglass screens, the audience was close to each other and not wearing masks.

Scott said: “Everyone in the #themaskedsinger audience is close and unmasked as the panel is separated by puzzled signs.”

Brig Bother commented: “I love that the audience is not socially distanced, but they still put perspex between the judges. #TheMaskedSinger”

Amy Harris added: “So they can have a full audience but still need a glass partition between the judges? Think face #themaskedsinger #maskedsinger”

And AuditionPianist wrote: “Ironically, no one in audience #TheMaskedSinger wears a mask!”
