American rapper and songwriter Azealia Banks canceled her show in Brisbane on Tuesday night at the last minute, vowing never to return to a country she deemed racist and violent.
Banks was scheduled to perform at the Tivoli before its promoter confirmed the show was canceled and tickets would be refunded.
It comes just days after a Melbourne gig at Festival Hall on Saturday night was postponed, with management citing visa issues.

But the fact that she is there is surprising.
After an unpleasant incident at a gig in Brisbane in 2013 in which she was nearly hit with a water bottle, she described performing in Australia as demoralizing and called the audience violent and belligerent .

Banks, best known for her debut single 212, took to her Instagram Stories after Brisbane was cancelled.
I’m so sorry guys – actually I’m not sorry – but listen: last time I was in Brisbane you all threw shit on the stage and almost ran away from hitting me in the face with af****** bottle of soda water or whatever it was, she said.
It was the most racist and demoralizing experience of my fucking life and right now I’m on a very good track.
I’m too far from home, I’m a beautiful black woman and I’m not going to be in front of an audience of white people to throw shit at me.
I’m not sorry.
I’m not sorry at all.

No keys, no coins, no hairbrushes, no vape pens, no lighters. No drinks on the dance floor.
As soon as something stupid happens, I leave.
In his message, Banks added that this will be my very last tour of Australia.
This place makes me completely miserable and I’m too black and beautiful to have a bunch of white people in my face playing with me on their weak motto, she said.

In 2013, Banks walked off stage after 90 seconds when she was hit by a beer can at the Listen Out Festival in Melbourne.
A can of beer was also thrown at her during a concert in Sydney the same year, prompting her to leave the stage.
She also described her 2015 appearance at Splendor in the Grass as a waste of time.
Point Productions, the promoter of Banks’ current tour, apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the rappers’ no-shows, describing the situation as beyond our control.
