A member of the World Health Organization advisory board accused the scientists who wrote a letter criticizing the COVID-19 laboratory leak theory in February 2020 of brutality and scientific propaganda.
Jamie Metzl appeared on Fox & Friends on Wednesday to discuss the Lab Leak Theory which was largely ostracized last year as a coronavirus conspiracy theory, but has now gained traction.
Metzl also called on the editor of The Lancet, a medical journal, to step down after the publication published the letter from scientists in February 2020 which condemned the theory of laboratory leaks.
I think this letter was not data science. It was science propaganda and violence, Metzl said in the interview.
Metzl is a supporter of the theory that the coronavirus escaped from a Chinese laboratory since last year. He said earlier this week on Fox News that a massive cover-up was underway by China over the origins of the pandemic.
I am not a right-wing fool. I am actually a progressive democrat. And so for me, the question is not whether it’s a right or a left thing. That’s right, let’s look at the data and be honest, Metzl said on “Fox & Friends”.
The origins of the coronavirus are unclear. U.S. intelligence reportedly determined that the virus could have emerged through natural transmission from animal to human, but also hasn’t ruled out the possibility that the virus escaped from the lab, which has studied various coronaviruses.
